Exhibiting at the Fairs

Each year, our members have the opportunity to exhibit our work at two major fairs, The Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, and the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. Although we have individual reasons for showing our lace (personal pride, friendly competition, cash prizes!), our entries serve a higher purpose, that of displaying our work and publicizing our group to the public at large. We welcome new members as a result of our exhibits and demonstrations at the fairs.

This year our members made a fine showing at the Monroe Fair, taking home ribbons in various categories, including bobbin lace, tatting, needlelace and knitting. There was only one bobbin lace entry in the Puyallup Fair this year, and it received a First Place ribbon. Please, lacemakers, let's have some competition next year! You can admire some of the winners in the column to the left. Enjoy!
